Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles, CA
Goldfarb & Lipman represented the State of California, the fee owner of substantially all of Exposition Park, which includes the Los Angeles Coliseum. Our office was retained to review and negotiate on behalf of the State of California the proposed long-term leasing and sub-leasing arrangements related to the Los Angeles Coliseum and the adjacent Los Angeles Sports Arena. The work included reviewing the existing lease between the State of California and the Coliseum Commission, the proposed sub-lease between the Coliseum Commission and the University of Southern California with respect to the impact of this sublease on the State’s interest in Exposition Park, and the long-term viability of these historic venues.

Hillsboro Stadium, Hillsboro, Oregon
Goldfarb & Lipman was hired as special counsel to the City of Hillsboro, Oregon, to represent the City, in conjunction with the City Attorney’s office, for the negotiation and preparation of a long-term license agreement of a City-owned baseball stadium with a team from the Northwest League (a Class A Short Season League of Minor League Baseball). In addition, we were primarily responsible for the negotiation and preparation of a naming rights marketing agreement for the marketing of the naming rights for the baseball stadium, and various other components within the baseball stadium, and a concessions agreement governing the sale of concessions by the team for City events at the baseball stadium and the adjacent City-owned stadium. The baseball stadium is located in the City-owned Gordon Faber Recreation Complex and opened in June 2013.

Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara, CA
Goldfarb & Lipman represented the City of Santa Clara, the Successor Agency to the Santa Clara Redevelopment Agency and the Santa Clara Stadium Authority in the development of a new stadium to serve as the home of the San Francisco 49ers. Our work on this project included advice on myriad complex financing, land use and real estate issues including triggers for environmental review, public bidding process, sale of seat licenses and naming rights, concession agreements, use of off-site parking, and protections under long term ground leases. On behalf of the City, Agency and Authority, we negotiated with lenders on various financing documents and with the 49ers on the terms of the long-term ground lease.

Fox Theater, Oakland, CA
Goldfarb & Lipman acted as legal counsel to the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Oakland in connection with the rehabilitation of the Oakland Fox Theater, a federally recognized historic building located in the Uptown area of Oakland, with the use of a combination of New Market Tax Credits and Rehabilitation Tax Credits.

Staples Center / L.A. LIVE, Los Angeles, CA
Goldfarb & Lipman provided representation to the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Los Angeles in connection with the development of the Staples Center arena and in drafting four implementation agreements, the most recent governing the master plan development surrounding the Staples Center known as L.A. LIVE.

Stockton Weber Point Stadium And Arena, Stockton, CA
Goldfarb & Lipman represented the Stockton Redevelopment Agency and the City of Stockton in the negotiation of the agreements resulting in the development of a new minor league baseball stadium and indoor arena in downtown Stockton and commitment of minor league baseball, ice hockey, indoor soccer and arena football teams to play in these facilities.
