Although the legislative session ended over a month ago, Governor Brown continues to sign into law bills on his desk. Yesterday, though, Governor Brown returned to the Assembly and the Senate, without his signature, numerous bills related to community economic development, successor agencies, and the development of affordable housing. While disappointing, these actions are not surprising given Governor Brown’s opposition to tax increment financing and other vestiges of the community redevelopment law. In particular, Governor Brown did not sign SB 133, SB 1129, AB 1450, AB 2280, and AB 2493. To read Governor Brown’s message on these bills, please click here.
