HCD has released its draft guidelines to implement the Veterans Housing and Homeless Prevention Program (“VHHPP”). VHHPP was created by AB 639 in 2013. Proposition 41, overwhelmingly approved by voters on June 3, authorized the issuance of $600 million in state general obligation bonds to provide multi-family housing to low-income veterans and supportive housing for homeless veterans.
Interested parties have until December 10 to comment on the draft guidelines, which can be found here. Additionally, public meetings will be held on December 8 in Los Angeles from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on December 10 in Oakland from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. More information on the these meetings can be found here.
