This program will explore common ethical mistakes and issues that attorneys make when representing clients and how to avoid them. Topics will include conflicts of interest; how long should lawyers maintain the client files; trust accounting- conflicts with the client; identifying who is the client; and engagement letters. Panel members will discuss these topics in the context of the California Rules of Professional Conduct, ethics opinions and case law and also will present information on best practices.
