Goldfarb and Lipman successfully represented two San Francisco affordable housing nonprofit corporations and the seven individual members of the Boards of Directors of the nonprofits in defense of a takeover attempt by a San Francisco church. The San Francisco Superior Court recently granted summary judgment in favor of all of the defendants in the action. The Court held that as a matter of law, the nonprofits were nonmember corporations and that the statute of limitations had run on all of the plaintiff’s claims. The plaintiff’s appeal from the summary judgment is pending. See Jones Memorial United Methodist Church v. Jones Memorial Homes, Inc., S.F. Superior Court No. CGC-14-538144.
