Lakeside Senior Housing, a 92-unit affordable senior housing development just off Lake Merritt in Oakland developed by Satellite Affordable Housing Associates, AveVista, a 68-unit affordable project across from Lakeside Park developed by BRIDGE Housing Corporation, and 1110 Jackson Street, a 71-unit affordable housing project in historic Chinatown developed by EBALDC are being featured as part of East Bay Housing Organizations’ 2015 Affordable Housing Week. The Oakland Housing Authority collaborated with the housing developers on Lakeside, AveVista and Jackson as the owner of the project sites and as a development partner. OHA provided project-based vouchers to all three projects and provided financing to SAHA and BRIDGE for the Lakeside and AveVista projects.
Goldfarb and Lipman represented OHA throughout all phases of the AveVista and 1110 Jackson projects, from OHA’s acquisition of the land through the creation of joint development agreements to negotiating ground leases, loan documents, and OHA’s participation as a special limited partner in the tax credit partnerships that own the developments. We have been privileged to help OHA structure these unique joint ventures with local nonprofit housing developers through which OHA has taken a leading role in providing well-designed and well-located mixed-income housing affordable to a range of residents.
