Goldfarb & Lipman Stands in Solidarity with the AAPI Community
Goldfarb & Lipman is heartbroken, horrified, and outraged by the Atlanta murders and the recent increase in violence and hate crimes against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) in the Bay Area and beyond. We strongly condemn these acts and the racist, xenophobic attitudes that propel them and that have become all too prevalent in our country. We equally condemn insidious and divisive narratives such as the “model minority” trope that serve to silence and divide communities of color. These acts and the ongoing campaigns to marginalize and harm AAPI members of our community cannot and should not be tolerated. Unfortunately, discrimination and persecution of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders has a long history in our state and in this country, and undoing the wrongs of the past will take a concerted effort on all our parts.
This wave of violence and hate only renews Goldfarb & Lipman’s commitment to work with our clients to create communities where all people are treated with dignity and respect by providing decent affordable housing and creating economic opportunities. We are proud of the work that our clients undertake every day to address the impacts of our country’s long history of systemic racism. Addressing the root causes of these most recent hateful acts is not easy, but the magnitude of the task ahead of us does not relieve us of our obligation to pursue a better world. We stand in support of and in solidarity with our AAPI colleagues, clients, friends, and the community at large in advocating for an inclusive and equitable world to pass on to future generations.
