Housing Authorities

The past decade has witnessed the emergence of new models for the development and operation of affordable housing by Public Housing Authorities.

Public/private partnerships have emerged, facilitating a more comprehensive approach to neighborhood revitalization.  These partnerships have also enabled the sharing of potential risks, rewards, and responsibilities, including financial risks and responsibilities as well as strengthening quality assurances in design, renovation, operations, and management.

Goldfarb and Lipman has been a part of the ongoing transformation of Public Housing through our extensive representation of Housing Authorities.  Our attorneys are knowledgeable in Public Housing, Section 8, Mixed-Finance, HOPE VI, and Public Housing Acquisition and Disposition.  We serve Housing Authorities both as general counsel, special counsel and are also frequently called upon for advice on the interpretation of HUD regulations and policies by Housing Authority clients that have the need for the special knowledge and expertise the firm has developed over many years in the affordable housing field.
