Jim Diamond, a partner in the firm, has practiced employment law for over 23 years. He has represented large and small corporations and public entities in employment matters in state and federal courts and administrative agencies throughout California. He also devotes a significant amount of his practice to counseling on employment issues, and has provided trainings on best employment practices issues. He started his practice at San Francisco’s Arnelle & Hastie, one of the nation’s preeminent minority-owned firms, and then spent four years at Grillo & Stevens, another minority-owned firm, concentrating his practice in employment law. He was on the Executive Committee of the Labor & Employment Law Section of the Alameda County Bar Association from 2009 through 2010. He has substantial pro bono experience, and has received a commendation for his work representing indigent asylum applicants from the AIDS Legal Referral Panel, and served on the Board of Directors of the Bay Area Urban League.
Juliet Cox, a partner in the firm, has substantial litigation experience in state and federal court, including representation of public entities and private corporations in matters involving litigation and administrative proceedings involving discrimination and retaliation claims under the Fair Employment and Housing Act, wage issues, and contract and tort litigation.
Erica Williams Orcharton has practiced employment law for over 10 years. As Director of Operations for a non-profit corporation for over three years, she provided counseling to the corporation on employment law issues, including discrimination, compliance with leave and FMLA issues, and numerous disciplinary matters. At Goldfarb & Lipman, she has continued to provide employment law counseling to our clients in these areas, has reviewed and drafted employment contracts and employee handbooks, and has provided trainings to non-profit employers on best employment practices issues.
Xochitl Carrion has substantial litigation experience, including arguing writs and motions, taking and defending depositions, drafting pre-trial motions (including motions for summary judgment), and sitting second chair in a jury trial and an arbitration. Her employment practice includes representation of employers in discrimination, termination, wage and hour, and harassment matters in state and federal courts. She also provides counseling advice to the firm’s clients on employment and labor law issues. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Carrion was the Assistant Director for the Center for the Study of Los Angeles at Loyola Marymount University. She is currently the President of the La Raza Lawyers Bar Association of San Francisco, and devotes substantial time on behalf of La Raza as well as other bar associations and non-profit organizations.
Vince Brown’s employment practice includes research of legal issues and drafting legal memoranda and briefs on a wide variety of employment issues, including contract, tort and discrimination cases, and in assisting in all phases of civil litigation, including discovery, motion practice and trial preparation.
